Cosas qué hacer y qué ver en Los Barriles

el servicio fue muy bueno, atentos, amables y tratando de solucionar cada punto para nuestra renta, si vas a los Barriles, una ATV, es necesaria para complementar tu estancia, un paseo por el pueblo y por la playa cuando menos es indispensable

Alifi fue muy servicial y nos preparó los vehículos correctos, los trajo a nuestro hotel, tenía una hielera para nosotros, ¡simplemente un gran servicio!

Si va a Los Barriles, le recomiendo Quadman para sus necesidades de alquiler de vehículos todo terreno. Es un placer trabajar con Ron y Alfonso y responden a sus necesidades. Hemos alquilado de ellos tres veces este año, y fue un servicio al cliente de primer nivel cada vez. Tienen una gran selección de vehículos, y el valor es insuperable. No puedo decir lo suficiente sobre lo mucho más fáciles y agradables que hacen nuestros viajes a BCS.

Nunca antes había alquilado un quad o un UTV, pero queríamos explorar las áreas más apartadas que iban a ser riesgosas o imposibles de acceder con nuestro auto alquilado. Con una familia de tres personas, el Pioneer SxS era una opción perfecta.Ir con un 24 h. alquiler. Es nominalmente más dinero, pero vale la pena para que realmente puedas explorar sin tener que volver corriendo el mismo día. Hicimos una caminata desde Los Barriles hacia el sur de La Ribera y hacia la playa para perseguir al pez gallo, etc. y fue una aventura divertida en algunos caminos y pistas de tierra accidentados y remotos. Con una hielera (incluyen una en el alquiler) tuvimos mucha comida y bebida, y lo pasamos muy bien. Pude recorrer y acceder rápidamente a excelentes lugares para pescar y bucear a través de caminos y senderos de acceso a la playa difíciles de encontrar.En general, es un proceso muy fácil para alquilar uno, y están muy limpios y bien mantenidos.

Excelente comunicación y experiencia con Quadman. ¡Nunca volveremos a ir a Punta Pescador sin usarlos!En los últimos 15 a 20 años que venimos a Los Cabos, siempre hacemos un viaje a Los Barriles, La Ribera y Punta Pescador. Este último es nuestro lugar favorito para ir, pero el camino puede ser un poco traicionero y lento, incluso en un 4 X 4.Finalmente conseguimos el programa y alquilamos uno al lado del otro por el día. Nos divertimos mucho y trabajar con Quadman lo hizo muy fácil. Cuando llegamos, lo tenían todo listo y después de un poco de papeleo, estábamos en camino. Nuestro lugar al que ir es El Viejo, pero Quadman sugirió el restaurante La Playa. ¿Cómo encajamos todo? ¡Fácil! El Viejo para desayunar tacos de camarones y La Playa para almorzar. Ambos fueron sobresalientes y aprecian que les presenten otra joya.El regreso fue fácil y estábamos de regreso a San José. Nunca volveremos a ir a Punta Pescador sin alquilar en Quadman. Fue el mejor momento de nuestro viaje.

Excelente comunicación con Ron por correo electrónico y teléfono antes de la llegada. Nos equipó un lado a lado casi nuevo para nuestras 2 semanas de pesca y exploración. Portacañas, enfriador, etc. Alfonso entregó nuestra máquina a la casa de alquiler cerca de La Ribera a tiempo y fue muy útil e informativo. No podríamos haber tenido el viaje de pesca y arpón que hicimos sin los alquileres de Quadman. El mejor precio que pude encontrar en el área también. Recomiendo encarecidamente este negocio profesional.

Mis hijos y yo alquilamos uno al lado del otro por unos días. Fue en nuestro hotel cuando llegamos como prometimos. Es la única forma de moverse por Los Barriles. El último día nos actualizamos a Talon sin problemas. ¡Estos chicos son geniales! Definitivamente les alquilaremos de nuevo.

Alquilé un bonito Honda talon uno al lado del otro y lo entregué en nuestra casa en La Ribera. Qué delicia montar en las dunas y llevarlo hasta Los Barilles montando en la playa. Probablemente nuestra mejor actividad en nuestro viaje de 2 semanas a Baja. A toda la familia le encantó. . . . alquilamos un 4 plazas con un niño de 8 y 10 años. Ron fue genial, tratamos directamente con él y el precio fue muy bueno para el día.

Alquilamos 2 garras Honda de quadman. Las máquinas estaban como nuevas y se nota que hacen un buen trabajo al mantenerlas. El propietario nos trabajó a un precio bastante justo. Todos los empleados fueron muy amables y serviciales. Gran trabajo Quadman! ! ! Yo recomendaría este lugar a cualquiera.

We rented a ATV from Quad Girl and requested that it was delivered to our Hotel. Mary from Quadgirl was excellent in having our Quad delivered with the requested additions included. Highly recommend taking a tour! Our tour guide was excellent and picked up quickly on our riding abilities. He showed us an amazing time in Baja we would not have seen otherwise. We ripped through desert trails to a Waterfall Oasis, followed by a local lunch in Santiago, and then more ATV fun in the desert. The guide, Joseph (if I recall), was attentive, funny, and an all around great tour guide. Quadgirls was easy to book and their customer service was excellent! Don’t think about it any longer… book a tour.

My Wife and I rented two Polaris Sportsman Quads 570cc Quads from Quadgirl and we were very happy with the Quads. When we rented the rental procedure was pretty painless, we arrived signed a waiver and the rental contract. We were then shown into the back to the machines. We did a quick inspection to see if there was any damage. Then we were given a map, the rules were explained. Basically you could drive on all of the municipal streets with the quad, but you are not permitted to drive on Federal Highways, except to get past some beach rocks less then a kilometer. We were then provided a map of things we could go and see. There was a suggestion that we could go and see Sol de Mayo in Santiago, there is a waterfall there, or you could go to the Los Barriles waterfalls they showed us where both of them are on the map. We chose to go to Sol de Mayo and see if we had enough time to get to the Los Barriles Waterfalls after we got back. So the ride, I highly recommend Google Maps and GPS. Get one of the people at the Quad girl place to put it in your phone, as you are not allowed to really travel on the highway you need to drive along the beach and turn up an old river bed and you follow that basically all the way up to the town of Santiago then into Sol de Mayo. This took us 3 hours to get up there, a lot of checking my GPS to ensure we were going the right way, which was good because at one point I went up the wrong creek bed and we would have gone no where. Also I HIGHLY RECOMMEND sun protection, the shrubbage and trees are short and the entire ride you have no shade at all. I burnt pretty good. You finally get up to Sol de Mayo and it's about a 5-10 minute walk to the waterfall very beautiful. There is also a little restaurant there that you can grab a small bite to eat and wet your whistle after a 3 hour ride. Our way back was much quicker, only took us 2 hours to get back to Los Barriles. But then we decided to go to the other waterfalls. BEWARE: A lot of the beach road you're on they want you to slow down, 7mph or 11kph so you don't dust everyone out, so it can take quite a while to get through the little housing complexes and the town. On the north side of Los Barilles you can go up another old river bed, that is maybe 30-40 minutes from the Sea of Cortez if you're going slowly. Which we were again making sure we were going the correct way. Made it up saw the waterfalls which were nice but Sol de Mayo were way nicer. Then we were back to Quad Girl in 30 minutes but we were moving so we would get there before they closed. But way easier when you know where you're going and soaked already. Got back with 10 minutes to spare. The machines were excellent, both Polaris Sportsman 570cc Quads. We had rented a cooler for both, so we had cold drinks in one and dry stuff in the other. Another recommendation, if you're going to pack sandwiches or something that can get crushed make sure they are in hard plastic containers as my two sandwiches and my wife's pear got completely destroyed. We used nearly the full tank of fuel in both machines in the day, a good 7 hours of total riding. The machines were very comfortable and had no problem navigating the sand in 2WD. We only needed 4WD for a short time in a couple of places. For those that have never operated a Quad before the throttle is operated by the right thumb, so you will be pretty sore by the end of the day. There is no cruise on it so you are holding it the entire time. Then the check in process was excellent, a quick look over of the machine and we were free to go. Check in took less then 5 minutes. All in all a very good day, good rental and nice machine. Only thing we weren't sure of was near the end of the day my wife was worried that she was going to run out of fuel she had 1 and a half bars (the second bar was starting to flicker) when we got back. When she picked up the machine there was one bar missing, however, before the end of town on the way out she lost a second bar so she got the machine at 3/4 full. Definitely recommend if you're missing a bar of fuel ask them to top it up before you leave, as you don't not want to run out of fuel. Otherwise a very good day and good Rental. 4.5 out of 5

Rented a RZR for about 3 days while visiting. Miguel was helpful with email prior to arriving and we went on a tour with him to an ecological preserve. Had a lot of fun on the tour and had good conversation. Would use again if in Los Barriles.

Miguel helped us have a great day seeing the waterfall. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and the equipment and was happy to chat about the area. It was fun riding on the beach and playing around in the arroyo was tons of fun. The waterfall pool has these cool fish that eat the dead skin off your feel if you sit still- really unique experience that we were't planning on but loved. The lunch was wonderful and the portions were huge. Depending on your needs you could share meals for sure. We couldn't finish and felt bad for throwing away such good food. The Honda 2 person side by sides were in good shape and you could tell they were well cared for. In general, they were great with a last minute booking and communication was easy. I love supporting a local business owned by a woman too!

Rented two Honda Pioneers to visit the beaches and quaint town of Los Barriles. The vehicles were in goos shape, and Miguel was great to work with. We will be back!

Many great experiences renting from Quadgirl! We’ve rented many different machines, multiple times over the last few years. The machines have always been in great shape, and staff is very friendly and accommodating. Easy communication from reserving to picking up to drop off, they will even deliver and pickup if needed. Es el mejor lugar para aprender kite. Ademas que tambien se puede bucear, 4 x 4, ver ballenas diariamente, conocer gente muy activa y divertida. Estuve 18 dias ahi y realmente no necesite moverme de ese lugar para hacer un monton de actividades. El grupo de profesores de kite fueron muy profesionales y ademas divertidos. Salieron con nosotros, jugamos pool, realmente hicimos amistades.En 18 dias obtuve mi nivel 3 gracias a Graham uno de los mejores ahi. Espero repetir mis vacaciones ahi y que nada haya cambiado por que estuvo buenisimo.Best vacations in my life.

Me encantó aprender a kitear con Exotic Kite, mi maestro fue Chepe, muy buen instructor, me sentí muy segura en el agua. Los dueños del sitio, Megan e Ian son super buenas personas y te atienden de primera.Voy por mi 5clase y pienso volver el siguiente fin de semana para terminar de aprender a pararme.Es muy cómodo ir ahí porque tienen cuartos con cocinetas en primera fila de playa, un restaurantito con rica comida y la escuela de kite y el centro del pueblo te queda a unos minutos caminando.

¡Tuve una gran experiencia con Exotikite! Probé el wingfoiling por primera vez y estuve en el agua antes del final de la primera hora. Nica fue una instructora fabulosa, muy paciente y servicial, y tienen una excelente configuración. Un quad lo lleva por la playa para maximizar su tiempo en el agua yendo a favor del viento, y tienen radios para su casco para que su instructor pueda seguir guiándolo desde la playa. ¡Muy profesional, amable y divertido! Hizo un trabajo maravilloso enseñando los conceptos básicos con el ala en tierra y luego ayudándome a sentirlo en el agua. Lo único que lamento es que el viento se apagó al día siguiente, justo cuando realmente estaba empezando a dominarlo. No puedo esperar para volver e intentarlo de nuevo. Recomendaría absolutamente probar el wingfoiling aquí, y estoy seguro de que sus instrucciones de kite también son acertadas.

Mi esposa y yo tuvimos un gran viaje a la escuela de kitesurf Exotikite. He estado en otras tres escuelas en México y Hawai. Estos muchachos son el mejor lugar que he encontrado para tomar lecciones. Con lo que se siente como playas interminables y un gran viento constante, Los Barriles prepara el escenario para un lugar épico para aprender. Exotikite tiene los mejores instructores de los que he tomado lecciones, así como algunos de los mejores equipos. Ponen radios en nuestros cascos para que puedan seguir dando instrucción todo el tiempo que los alumnos están en el agua. También tienen vehículos en la playa para llevarlo contra el viento para maximizar su tiempo contra el viento con los instructores. ¡Estaremos de vuelta!

Nuestra familia estuvo en la ciudad durante una semana y todos queríamos probar el kitesurf. Cuando se levantó el viento el jueves, contaban con instructores muy profesionales, excelente equipo, excelente ubicación en la playa principal de Los Barriles y precios muy justos. Mi instructor fue Graham y mi esposa trabajó con su hermano Simon. Ambos fueron muy pacientes con nosotros, muy minuciosos, y estábamos en el agua al final de nuestro primer día. En nuestro segundo día, mi esposa quería sentirse más cómoda con el control de la cometa en la playa, así que lo hizo de nuevo, mientras yo conseguía subirme a la tabla en el agua por primera vez.Los propietarios, Ian y Megan, fueron muy receptivos sobre su capacidad, sobre informarnos cuándo se pronosticaba viento y cuándo deberíamos llegar para experimentar las mejores condiciones.Muy recomendable, mejor de lo esperado, ¡definitivamente regresaría en nuestra próxima aventura en Baja Sur!

Tuve una gran experiencia con mi primera lección de kiteboard. Megan Ian, Chepe y otros me hicieron sentir que estaba pasando el rato con mis amigos. Era temporada baja pero estaban atentos a la previsión de viento y logramos salir en un día ventoso perfecto. Espero volver en noviembre.

Excellent pickleball facility. We had a fun day here. $10 USD per person, plus $2 USD per person for paddles (they're good ones) if you don't take your own. I think there were 8 courts. We went on a pretty windy day and the walls helped a little. Super fun! Food looked really good, but we didn't eat there. Now I wish we had--I keep thinking about the Acai bowl I missed out on, haha!

I had never played pickleball before but because of this place I’ve become addicted! Lots of courts, lots of people to play with, and the staff is very friendly. Reduced price to play 3p-6p, 2 for 1 from 4p-6p, making it a fun afternoon for under $10, even if you’ve never played before.

From the minute you walk in, the Tres Palapas experience is perfect! The grounds are beautifully maintained, the staff and owners welcoming and the courts are in perfect condition and I think there are 10 or 11 including the tournament court. Lots of places to sit and relax, clean bathrooms and very nice and welcoming people to play with. As someone who is not a regular visitor, all the players are still very welcoming and it's easy to find people to play with. They have great food and drink options at Tres Palapas, so breakfast, lunch or dinner - including a full bar - are available making it a great place to hang out when not playing.Los Barriles is a very cool and chill place as well. The town is small with several great restaurants and bars, and friendly people, both ex-pats and locals. Lots of fun day trips you can go on from there such as La Paz, Todos Santos, San Bartolo, and El Triunfo.Also, close to Cabo Pulmo for world-class diving and lots of kiteboarding in Los Barriles, if that's your thing.Can't wait to go back!

A wonderful place to learn, improve, play, and compete for pickle ball. Reasonably priced. Fantastic snack bar of healthy, well portioned, inexpensive, and tasty food.

Nice courts, close to town, reasonable restaurant prices. $10 to play is a bit high but you are on vacation. Competition is good ranging from 3.0 to 4.5. Staff was good but management needs work.

My sister wanted to show off this fantastic facility. She plays 3x a week and loves it.Met the owners who welcomed me with open arms. Hopefully I will get to play on their courts next time I'm there...just need to learn how to play😎

This is the most beautiful Pickleball venue and travel destination you will ever find! The food is outstanding, people are incredibly nice, Pickleball has all levels of competition, and the views are amazing. Where else can you go to watch baby humpback whales, sea turtles hatch, find magalodon teeth, and ancient rock art when you aren’t playing Pickleball? Plus the fishing in the Sea of Cortez is unbelievable! Add this to your bucket list!! ❤️🎣🇲🇽🌟💪🏻

If you are a Pickleball fan this is the place for you. Truly a destination spot. Best courts ever. Everyone is made to feel welcome from beginner to expert. The facility is spotless. The instructors are terrific. (Thank you Kevin for being so attentive and Patient) In fact all the staff are great. The food is delicious as are the margs from the bar. My only disappointment is that my husband and I didn’t come to Los Barriles long enough to spend more time here. But we’ll be back next year!!

Lo mejor de esta experiencia fue el trato personalizado de Félix. Nos presentó a los caballos y nos familiarizo con el que nos tocaba a mí hijo y a mi. Nos explicó pacientemente cómo mover las riendas. Nos llevó por un recorrido espectacular. Nunca olvidaremos este paseo.

Uno de los pocos lugares donde la atención es única. Félix dedicó tiempo y paciencia en enseñarme cómo montar un caballo, honestamente no aprendí pero me divertí como loca. Muy recomendado!

Dando una vuelta por Los Barriles encontré a Bajas’s Awesome Beach Rides, el tour es muy bueno la atención de lo mejor y el servicio personalizado. Si eres principiante recomiendo el recorrido por la playa la vista es increíble ya sea el amanecer o en el atardecer el mar de Cortés es bello y arriba de un caballo más. Agradezco a Félix por el excelente trato que recibimos, muchas gracias ... prometo regresar 🙂

Wow, ¡qué paseo al amanecer! ¡Nos lo pasamos de maravilla con nuestro guía, que era un ora amable y conocedor y excelente a caballo! Mi esposa y yo amamos a los perros del establo que nos siguieron durante nuestro paseo matutino. El paseo al amanecer fue perfecto para nosotros, porque amamos el amanecer y solo queríamos un par de horas a caballo. ¡Le daría 10 estrellas si pudiera!

¡Este es el lugar para montar en Los Barriles!Sam es la nueva vaquera de la ciudad, ¡y es increíble! Mi novio y yo, ambos jinetes, salimos con ella 3 veces durante nuestro viaje de una semana a Los Barriles. La primera vez éramos cuatro (incluida la amazona y la coordinadora María) para un técnico 1 . 5 horas arriba y abajo de una colina cercana, la siguiente, un viaje de 6 horas de duración, incluidos los dos principiantes con los que viajábamos, y un viaje de una hora final en el que algunos de nosotros fuimos a medio galope por el arroyo y bajando por la playa.Quedamos muy impresionados con el cuidado y entrenamiento dado a los caballos. Este no es el típico paseo por la isla. Estuve tanto en Canela como en Big Red... pero todos los caballos estaban bien entrenados y eran controlables. ¡Todos en nuestro grupo pasaron un tiempo fabuloso! ¡También tenga en cuenta que le tomarán fotos y se las enviarán por correo electrónico sin costo adicional!Sam es una amazona experta y ha trabajado con caballos de todo el mundo. Best pedicure I have ever had. Been four times now and going back soon. Massage was also the best. The place is very peaceful and very clean. They even have a cat that comes out for a pet or two.

For anyone with chronic or new musculoskeletal issues a visit to KayAnn is a must. I have a chronic upper back issue that gave way while spending part of the winter in Los Barriles and I suffered through a few weeks of the great pain until I connected with KayAnn. Biweekly sessions with her for almost 2 months alleviated my pain and. she, gave me exercises to continue to work toward a pain-free existence. The best part of the exercise was that her grace, charm, dignity and highly honed sense of humour made the experience fun! I would highly recommend this very skilled and intuitive practitioner.

Kay Ann is A highly skilled therapist who has knowledge of body issues. She worked on me for an hour and a half and I only regret that I couldn’t see her again and again. She did amazing things in a very short time to help me. She also taught me exercises and stretches to help my condition. My low back pain was completely relieved with her work and recommendations.

Locating a physiotherapist of KayAnn's level here in Los Barriles is an amazing find. She has helped relieve various different problems for me, from hand and wrist pain to neck and shoulder stiffness, lower back and leg sciatica pain. Truly a miracle and worth every penny! Wish I could take her home for the summer.

I had sciatica pain running from my back down to the front of my knee. The pain was unbearable and I was trying to stand on one leg to get rid of the pain. Kay Ann was recommended as a physiotherapist and I booked an appointment. She worked, pulled, and massaged my back and I walked out of the spa feeling better. The next morning I got up and my pain was gone. She is amazing, strong, and is very skilled in her profession. I recommend her to anyone needing healing or for the greatest massage you will ever have!!!

I've had a lot of physio in the past 30 years due to sporting activities, injuries and tension caused by desk jobs. Travelling full time in an RV resulted in acute pain in my neck/shoulder and aggravated chronic issues in my sacroiliac region (hips, sacrum, hamstrings). KayAnn was quick to determine the sources, released joints and muscle tension in many areas. She was great at education, demonstrating on her mini skeleton model, and gave me exercises to do on the road. I highly recommend physio with KayAnn.

I have been dealing with "over- used" shoulder muscles for years. I have been to numerous physical therapy modalities and have found KayAnne to be phenomenal in her ability to fix problems. I probably have close to $3000 out of pocket expenses dealing with Tendinitis in my shoulders. 2 visits here at the spa cleared up a year's worth of problems. The bad news is that I think (not totally sure though) that this is the only kite/windsurf/foil rental shop in town. The good news is that the bad news doesn’t matter ‘cause these folks are fantastic!Zero to hero in 8 hours is what they advertise and while I didn’t achieve the haloed status is was thru no fault of theirs. Pat provided an excellent 2 hour intro session then he handed me off to Marcus for my 1-1 instruction. Marcus was awesome. Despite their goofy British accents both Pat and Marcus’ communication was crystal clear as was their patience plus they genuinely seemed thrilled with my progress despite probably having taught 100s of greenhorns like me 4 wheeler rides upwind was a bonus as was great gearThanks Vela Baja!

Since I am now old enough for medicare, it seemed like the right time to try a new sport and learn kite control. The 0 to Hero lessons were excellent with Patrick. HIs energy and tips were extremely helpful . It was reassuring to have him attached to my harness and providing immediate feedback and instruction. The focus on safety was greatly appreciated. Would recommend Vela Baja to anybody wanting to pick up this very invigorating and entertaining sport. I used to windsurf for years, but I can see this is much more fun.

Patrick, Neil, Peter, Quen, Patricio, Phoebe and Pilar, plus all of the wall captains and water watchers - the very best! This was our 6th time to Vela BCS and every time it’s better. The team is highly skilled, excellent with instruction and is there to make you a better waterman (and woman)- maybe even a better person! They have the latest gear so don’t feel like you need to haul all of your stuff. We even checked them out in Rhodes in Sept- might head back to BCS in March! Viva Vela Baja!

The gang at Vela is awesome. Neil and Peter run a great show. They are friendly and engaging and super helpful in everything kiting and all the other activities they offer. Patrick is a great instructor as well. Can't go wrong with these guys.

The sailboard and sup equipment is high quality, and the facilities (opportunity to shower, stash clothes) were fine. There are very friendly volunteers (Rod and Bev) who watch the sailers on the water. The actual employees were a bit indifferent, maybe jaded or 'too cool for school'. On our last day they warmed up and were friendlier. I would go back next time, for the quality of the boards, sails, and the convenience. Next time I would sign up for the sports package, with bike rentals as well. While we didn't rent bikes this trip, the bikes looked very well maintained, with two levels of mountain bikes available.

Eric and the whole team at Vela Baja were terrific. We enjoyed our stay in LB and they helped us make the most of it with biking and other activities, but in particular in getting our 13 year old up and (almost) riding. They were patient and thorough in their kitesurfing instruction and dealt with our son's understandable hesitations such that he finished strong and keeps asking when we will go back. Thank you!!

If you want to be at a great spot for windsurf, you should visit Vela Baja. Great place, great food, great equipment. But best of all is the staff, they treat you as if you were part of their family, making everything for you to have a wonderful time. Excellent for kids and adults. The sunrises are amazing, and don´t miss the bonfire nights!!

I've been coming to Vela Baja for seven years. It has high-performance windsurfing gear, SUPs, kayaks, and mountain bikes. The staff and guests are very friendly and I have long-term friends there now. The hotel has a beautiful beach and ocean side view with whales, dolphins and rays. The hotel staff is very accommodating and friendly. The rooms are basic but very clean. I highly recommend Vela Baja!

We went to Vela Baja for the first time during the Xmas holidays of 2013. It left so spellbound that we returned in 2014 and 2015. The location itself is a paradise and great spot for windsurfing but what gave us even more satisfaction was the center and the people who worked there. They have a very professional staff that takes care of the all details and also makes you feel safe because you know they are always looking out for while you are in the water. And this was important to us because our son aged 11 at the time could windsurf for 5-6 hours a day. And each year we returned it felt so warm and hospitable. They have fantastic gear and all in great condition. Their MTB tours are fantastic as well. Well mapped out courses both scenic and challenging. We loved it and we would surely go back at the earliest.
